Match Review:
Batting
The Archivers were sent in to bat first by Rance Ramblers captain Adrian Thompson.  Bruce Hill and Joe Fallon opened and made a solid stand of 16 before Joe was caught  off the the bowling of J.Walsh for 6. Stewart Reay came to the crease with Bruce and they put on a very fine partnership of 20 before Bruce was caught hitting out on 18. Stewart was joined with the score on 41 after 7 overs, by the hard hitting David Lee and they also put on a stand of nearly 20 before Stewart skied a ball, hitting out, with his score on 19. Owen Jacob came in to bat with the total on 63 after 9 overs and again, with some fine strokeplay he scored a quickfire 20 to bring the total to 9
5 after 14 overs, before Dave Lee was out caught on 18. Geoff Nurse came in to bat and with Owen put on a partnership of 15 before Owen retired with his score on 20 and the teams total on 110 off 16 overs. Rob Pocock joined the tail batting attack and with same able and deft strokeplay helped put together a 15 run partnership, before Geoff retired on 20 with the team's total on 125 after 18 overs. Johnny Miller then joined Rob and together they took the Archives total to 132 after the teams fully alloted 20 6 ball overs. There were 15 extras (1 no ball, 9 wides,1 bye and 4 leg byes). Humphrey Cuzner and Morgan Dockrell did not bat.

Bowling
Dalkey opened their bowling attack with the ever steady Joe Fallon and Stewart Reay. Rance Ramblers (RR) initially played cautiously and scored 20 off the first 4 overs. Morgan Dockrell and Dave Lee were the first change bowlers and they did well to cope with the Rance Rambler opening pair who batted very well playing some very aggressive shots and completed their 4 over spell with the score on 45 after 8 overs with the two RR openers retired on twenty plus each.  RR then sent in their two very strong top and middle order batsmen who took the score to 110 off the bowling of Humphrey Cuzner, Robert Pocock, Bruce Hill and extra single over spells from Robert Pocock and Joe Fallon. Owen Jacob and Johnny bowled at the end and the Archivers found it difficult keeping the hard hitting middle and tail order of Rance Ramblers reaching the total of 132+ with 9 balls to spare off a fine Brian Malloy winning sweep shot for four.
Well done to RR for their finely constructed victory !

Awards
Andrew Robels received a special Dalkey Archives "Bottle of Wine Award" for his great help in the past to our team. Andrew took over from Adrian Thompson who excused himself midway through the match not feeling well and our team wishes him a speedy recovery. The Man of the Match Bottle of Wine went to  Adrian Thompson's son Richard.
