Match Review:
Batting
The Archivers were sent in to bat first by Marian with  Paul Barlow and Patrick Wilshere opening. Patrick was out bowled with the total score on 9 and Robert Pocock came to the crease. He too was dismissed cheaply after some fine and accurate bowling by the Marian twin opening pair of  Paul O'Conor and Brian Lavey. The reliable as ever and much talented Dave Lee then came in to bat, scoring a rapid 20 with 5 elegantly dispatched fours and then retiring with the total on 54 after 8 overs. Geoff Nurse then came to the crease and watched Paul Barlow get his 21 (his scoring chart a respectable 1.4.1.4.1.1.4.1.4) before Paul's forced retirement. Dave Ingram joined Geoff  in the batting fray and together they powered the home team score on to 94 for 4, after 11 overs, when Geoff was retired on 21. Dalkey's all-rounder Humphrey Cuzner then came in to bat.   Dave Ingram, after patiently getting his eye in, scored a rapid 23 hitting a four and six in the last two balls of his innings before mandatory retirement. Owen Jacob then came in to bat, and  after warming up by scoring four defensive singles, cut loose, hitting  a six and two fours, and then retiring after a well constructed and superb innings of 20 (scoring chart 1.1.1.1.6.1.4.4.1) taking the teams total score to 138. Humphrey Cuzner stayed at the crease till the end of the innings scoring a commendable ten runs (2.1.2.4.1) and was joined by Johnny Miller who scored 3 before being run out. Joe Fallon was caught in the deep with a great catch on the mid-on boundary for 1 in the last over going for a big hit. Stewart Reay batting at eleven with Humprey Cuzner, faced 3 balls and carried his bat for 0 runs bringing the Dalkey total score to 147. There were 17 wides/noballs and 9 byes/leg byes adding 26 to the final batting total, after the allotted 20 six ball overs

Bowling
Joe Fallon and Stewart Reay opened the bowling with their allotted 4 overs for Dalkey and faced some hard hitting by the Marian openers which took Marian to a rapid 20 after 4 overs. Paul Barlow and Dave Lee carried on the bowling attack and Marian reached 47 after 8 overs (~6 per over and slighly behind required run rate). Robert Pocock and Humphrey Cuzner continued the bowling and Marian ticked over their score to 85 after 12 overs (bringing them back on track). Patrick Wilshere and Owen Jacob did a tidy spell of containment bowling limiting Marian to a total of 107 after 16 overs. The ever able Johnny Miller and Dave Ingram did the death bowling and limited Marian to a score of 130 for 8 in Marians fully allotted 20 overs.

Special Mention
Thanks to Bruce for bringing the Pimm's stock which caused some pre-match concern!
Geoff Nurse was awarded the bottle of wine Man of The Match by John the Marian captain and both the Captains speeches alluded to the fact that Marian are an emerging, enthusiastic, talented and young Taverners team who played the game with a refreshing ethos allied to Dalkey Archives own spirit.
