Batting
Phoenix scored 153 off their alloted 15 eight ball overs
Fielding
Both Captains had agreed to play a 120 ball match in the format of 15 overs of 8 balls each. Nigel Martin and Patrick Wilshere opened the batting for Dalkey making a quick 25 runs reached off 23 balls, before Nigel was caught for 18 hitting out off the bowling of Watson. Star allrounder and number 3 batsman Dave Ingram came to the crease and proceeded in his usual fashion to elegantly master boundaries. Dave hit 4 fours, a single and six to reach 23 before retiring with the team score on 58, after 6 overs. Patrick Wilshere and Geoff Nurse had a good partnership and reached their retirement targets together. Further cameo batting from Stewart Reah and Stephen Orr took forward the fine tradition of scoring 20 each, allowing Dalkey to reach a formidable 135 runs after 12 overs. Johnny Miller, Joe Fallon,Richard Corkin and Pierce Butler finished off the batting and helped Dalkey reach a final target score of 153, off the teams alloted 15 overs (Johnny Miller kindly retired with 1 over to spare to give Richard Corkin some batting ). Richard Corkin was caught in the deep when striking out to the bowling of O'Brien and Pierce Butler came to the non-striking crease end for the last ball faced by Joe Fallon.
Men of Match
Dalkey awarded Phoenix's experienced batsman Rex Coglan, a Bottle of Wine for his opening batting spell ( he top scored for Phoenix with 17) and showed fine skills when fielding to square cuts at point, plus bowling well against Dalkeys addressive top order and limiting runs to 13 off his two overs.
Phoenix awarded Dalkey's star player Dave Ingram their Man of the Match bottle of wine for his 3 wickets and fine batting show.
